I have a Chenbro RM21706 with a Supermicro X7DVL-E motherboard. I am having difficulty getting the onboard SATA RAID to work with your backplane. I have heard there may be compatibility problems with this configuration. Should this work?

Please check with your cable supplier to make sure that normal SATA connectors are compatible with HDD. According to SATA/SAS specification, HDD adopts different pin assignment comparing to host side. If your cable is not designed correctly, your host card can not detect any drive.
