Stootie
Stootie is a community and collaborative online platform 1 , 2 to request services in real time and geo-localized launched by Jean-Jacques Arnal in 2011 and based in Paris . The users can be professional or private and the requested services paid or free. Stootie is defined as “generalist” because the services offered are varied, and ” peer-to-peer
History
In 2011 , Jean-Jacques Arnal creates Stootie 3 .
In August 2011, the iOS application is launched and welcomes its first users. Requests for service are launched with geolocation, innovative at the time and for the first time, thanks to the smartphone , to be notified in real time of requests for services around you.
In 2012 , on his first Stootie raising funds totaling 400 000 € including investors such as Xavier Niel and Jean-David Blanc .
In October 2012, the Android version of Stootie appears as well as major evolutions with the creation of user profiles.
In December 2013 , we see appear on the application the garage sale which now allows to sell, buy, rent or lend objects.
At the end of 2013, Stootie made its second fundraising of 420 000 € . Xavier Niel and Jean-David Blanc 4 , 5 reinvest on a personal basis.
In April 2015 , the startup reboots a round of € 1.2 million 6 .
In February 2016, Stootie secures payment by acting as a trusted third party 7 which includes a commission to pay the service reservation of 15% for service seekers and 3% for service providers.
In February 2016 , Stootie has 400,000 users 8 .
In July 2016, Stootie announces a new fundraising of € 7.4 million in Series A [What?] With investors such as MAIF , BPI France , a family office and historical investors 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 . This fundraising is ahead of all competitors.
The fundraising in July will be completed by a family office and will reach 9.25 million euros in December 2016 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 .
In November 2017 , Stootie has over one million members and saves almost 1 000 applications a day and relies on a total of applications representing 2.5 million euros 20 .
Concept and functioning
The application is open to individuals and professionals, regardless of their status. Individuals can both propose and request a service in different areas 21 , 22 .
